Yes, the Recessed Cable Plate is standard sized 4.5 x 2.7-inch, which can be mounted with a 1-gang low voltage bracket.

-5 What are the interior dimensions of the cable hole? I'm trying to hide the cord to a surge protector and the plug is quite wide.

The inner dimensions of the hole opening are 1 1/2" wide x 1 3/8" (at its deepest opening).

-6 How much clearance do you need behind the wall? I am working with a wall that has only 3/4 of an inch space between the sheet-rock and cinder-block.

Unfortunately that won’t be enough room behind the wall. You’ll need about 1 3/4” from the front of the wall for it to fit flush.

-7 Will a standard 3-prong electrical plug fit through the Recessed Cable Plate?

No. this is designed for wiring only. You are not supposed to run the electrical power cord through the wall. That is a violation of code. This 1-Gang Recessed Low Voltage Cable Plate is designed to only run the HDMI and other non-powered cables through the Recessed Cable Plate and through the wall. You are supposed to install another power outlet in the wall behind the TV. It is best to use an electrician for installing the new outlet.
