In the actual small monitoring system, some people often divide the 8 cores of the network cable into 4 cores, half of which is used as the crystal head for the network transmission of the camera, and the other half is used as the power transmission of 12V.

Since there are many people using it, such a transmission must be effective. However, this does not affect the use, but it is definitely not recommended, because the power supply voltage on the camera side is easily installed in this way, which can easily lead to the problem of insufficient power supply. But it seems that a lot of people do this, and everyone is not surprised.

What is the function of the 8-core network cable?

The 8-core wire in the network cable is composed of 4 pairs of transmission lines twisted together in different colors, so it is also called twisted pair. I believe you will also be curious, why are they twisted together. If you observe carefully, you will find that the tightness of each pair of windings is different, and the lay length of each pair is also different.

The purpose of this is to change the original electronic characteristics of the cable, resist external electromagnetic interference, reduce the crosstalk of its own signal, and achieve an optimal transmission effect.

The network cables currently used include Category 5 cables and Category 6 cables. Category 5 cables are used to transmit 100M networks; Category 6 cables are used to transmit gigabit networks. One of the biggest drawbacks of twisted pair is that the transmission distance does not exceed 100 meters.
